Author and award-winning lyricist Sir Tim Rice is coming to China Exchange for his 60 Minutes on 13 November. Tim has worked in music, theatre and films since 1965; his early works include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has since worked with other distinguished popular composers on projects such as the Lion King, Aida, and Aladdin.

In March this year, his material featured in two new films – Disney’s fresh interpretation of Beauty and the Beast, and the latest Roger Goldby film Time of Their Lives. He jokes that his several awards, including three Oscars and three Golden Globes among others, were mainly for the wrong thing or for simply turning up.

Tim will join us to talk about his varied career as a lyricist, his passion for cricket, being a presenter and broadcaster for BBC Radio 2, and his extensive knowledge of the history of popular music. Book now to find out how Tim played his part in some of the best-loved musical pieces of our time, and what it’s like to be featured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This event is part of the Prudential Series of talks by exceptional people with extraordinary lives.
