Mon 25 Jun

In the next showcase of work developed as part of Cultivate @ China Exchange, limited seats are available to experience two multi-form theatrical works, featuring four cross-disciplinary performers, new writing, dance and live music. Expect breezy laughs, acid commentary and indecent thoughts with SHAME, a double bill showcase of developing work.

Red-faced with guilt?

White-hot embarrassment?

Catastrophic meltdown?

Or just enjoying watching others fall?

Welcome to the SHAME Club.

Part one: Guns, Water, Monica Lewinsky

Featuring the Monica Lewinsky scandal, a shocking roll-call of tragic refugee statistics, and an outrageous Hollywood pitch for an upcoming blockbuster called ‘Aleppo’, guns, water, monica lewinsky is a scathing trip through the heart of contemporary shame politics. A shaming, the shameful and the shameless.

Part two: The Interior Life of Grace Goode

When Grace’s moment of weakness goes viral, and her world begins to slip away, she has to find a way to rid herself of the shame. Join us, on a casual stroll through Grace’s internal trauma.

SHAME is supported by Arts Council England, Pleasance London, China Exchange and New Diorama Theatre.
