This summer, China Exchange is leading a pilot project with community groups to create original souvenirs that celebrate London’s Chinatown. Through workshops with experienced craftspeople, volunteer makers will work together to produce items that will be sold to raise money for charities in our neighbourhood.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can also make a workshop available to members of the public who would like to learn some new things and support Chinatown.

In a 2.5 hour session, you will learn some embroidery skills from designer Zuzana Lalikova, who combines traditional craft techniques with contemporary designs.

She will guide you to create embroidery pieces inspired by London’s Chinatown. We will keep what you produce – you get to take away your new skills! Your creations will be sold later this year in a special Made in Chinatown sale to support charities working in the local area.

Everyone is welcome and no skills other than enthusiasm are required to join the session. This event is free of charge but places are limited. Please register to take part.
