Historian and writer Lord John Julius Norwich (John Julius Cooper, 2nd Viscount Norwich, CVO) will share 60 minutes with the China Exchange audience as part of the Prudential Series.

He spent twelve years in the UK diplomatic service, with posts at the Embassies in Belgrade and Beirut and at the Disarmament Conference in Geneva before resigning to become a writer in 1964. The decision led to him writing and editing more than thirty books – most recently a history of Sicily published in 2015. He writes extensively on history, on architecture, music and the history plays of Shakespeare, and has presented some thirty documentaries on BBC television. Alongside his writing and research commitments, Lord Norwich lectures regularly on art history, architecture and music in Europe, North America and Australia.

This event is part of the Prudential Series of talks by exceptional people with extraordinary lives.
