On 1 February, Chinatown welcomed TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall to mark the lunar new year and the 40th anniversary of the Chinese Information and Advice Centre.
China Exchange CEO, Freya Aitken-Turff and volunteer, Sau Hing Au were invited to a small private meeting with HRH The Prince of Wales to discuss racism, anti Asian hate and the role of heritage activities in breaking down harmful stereotypes.
Lion dance performances and enthusiastic crowds lined the streets to create a celebratory welcome. Several CE volunteers helped steward the crowds outside and got to greet the Royal visitors during the celebrations.
Congratulations to CIAC for the 40th anniversary and coordinating the Royal visit.
