Ewan Venters is Chief Executive of luxury food emporium Fortnum & Mason. Under his leadership, the 300-year-old ‘Queen’s grocer’ has seen record profits and growth. Find out more about his experience at this Prudential Series evening at China Exchange.

Having worked as executive director for food, restaurants and online at Selfridges, Ewan has spent his career to date focused on luxury food brands and finding ways for those products to reach a wide audience.

Food has always been Ewan’s passion and it has been the focus of his career to date. His childhood ambition was to be a baker – he even started his own business delivering bread rolls and cakes at the age of 11 – but opted for food retail instead. He is not only respected for his knowledge of food brands and his eye for spotting trends, but also for his ability to attract attention – at Selfridges, he initated the “most expensive sandwich in the world” and other stunts to cement the store’s reputation as a destination for all serious foodies to visit.

This event is part of the Prudential Series of talks by exceptional people with extraordinary lives.
