About Dr Sigg

Businessman, diplomat, philanthropist and art collector, Uli Sigg worked as a journalist before establishing the first joint venture company between China and Europe. In 1995 he was appointed as the Swiss Ambassador to China, North Korea and Mongolia. Uli used his passion for art to amass the largest collection of Chinese contemporary art anywhere in the world. In 2012, he donated 1,453 pieces and sold a further 47 to M+ Hong Kong, thus establishing the museum as the number one collection of contemporary Chinese art. Dr Sigg is a member of the International Council of New York MOMA and the International Advisory Council of the Tate, London. His extraordinary experiences were recently documented in the film “The Chinese Lives of Uli Sigg”
