China Culture Connect presents the London audience with a unique opportunity to learn and collect from top embroidery artist from China as part of the Chinatown’s Chinese New Year celebration events this year.

Suzhou embroidery is one of the four schools of China’s embroidery with over 2,000 years of history. Inspired and influenced by artists and the wisdom of one of the world’s great cultures, Suzhou embroidery has been recognised for its unique-style beautiful design, elegance, rich colour, skilled needlework and dexterous stitching, and has enjoyed a world-wide reputation for elegance and excellent craftsmanship. Zhou Xueqing inherited Suzhou embroidery, an intangible cultural heritage of China, and she is a leading artist in the field of embroidery art and handcraft fashion having worked in embroidery for more than 30 years.

Winning many national awards including the honorary title of “top ten craftsmen”, Zhou Xueqing’s embroidery has been exhibited in China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. To keep the art of embroidery alive she has trained over 2,500 embroidery artists over the years.
