What is Chinese Contemporary Dance?

This discussion will be looking into the different components of Chinese Dance in comparison to popular western dance styles.

Chinese Contemporary Dance is one of a new interest in dance forms that blend the East and West with a mixture of ballet, Chinese Classical Dance and Martial Arts.
This has been formed by research currently on going at Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance, in partnership with Beijing Dance Academy. The talk will be accompanied by videos and live performance demonstrations.

This talk will be delivered by Annie Guo, Director of Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance and Joint Director of Goldsmiths Asia Centre. Performances will be by Aonan Zhang and Xiaowen Tang.
