Scott Malkin is the founder and Chairman of Value Retail, the creator of Bicester Village, as well as the co-founder and Chairman of Value Retail China and the founder and Chairman of S.D. Malkin Properties.

The future of retail in the digital age is in delivering superb experiences, and Value Retail embraces hospitality and technology to create unique environments that address this opportunity.  The company’s vision is most similar to that of a boutique hotel business, and it is staffed and operated accordingly.

Value Retail is the creator of Bicester Village, located near Oxford outside of London, which generates the highest sales per square foot of any shopping centre in the world. Bicester Village is designed for long haul tourism, and welcomes three out of every four Chinese visitors to the UK.

Value Retail develops experiential, fashion destinations serving the capital cities of Western Europe and the Tier One cities in China.  Its eleven venues include, in addition to Bicester Village, La Vallée Village at Disneyland Paris and Shanghai Village at the newly opened Shanghai Disney Resort.

The collection of Value Retail Villages is the most productive portfolio in the world in sales per square foot. These projects reflect the lessons learned at S.D. Malkin Properties’ award winning Two Rodeo Drive development in Beverly Hills, California, which defines fashion, luxury experience and tourism shopping.

Scott serves on various non-profit boards, including those of The New York Public Library, The Carnegie Endowment For International Peace and Partners In Health.  As well, he is the managing partner of the New York Islanders professional ice hockey team, which plays in the NHL.
