Cultivate@ChinaExchange presents Quang Kien Van’s open rehearsal on 6th November 2016. Dancer and choreographer Quang Kien Van alongside his team of dancers and creatives will hold an informal sharing at China Exchange – previewing extracts from his upcoming dance theatre show Lunar Shadows and reflecting on his creative process.
Come catch an early glimpse of Quang’s eagerly anticipated new show and gain insight to his creative practice. There will be performance of extracts followed by and Q&A.

About The Artist
Quang Kien Van trained at Central School of Ballet and went on to dance for companies including Adventures in Motion Pictures, Skanes Danstheater, Cirque du Soleil, Michael Clark Company, Fleur Darkin Company, Scottish Dance Theatre and The Royal Court Theatre.
Quang’s choreographic credits include: Patient 319 – as part of BEACDS 09; One Night and Sword Play – in the Berlin cabaret show Ambrosia (2010); Kriya – performed with Salon K Experience (2010)
In the spring of 2013 Quang launched “Portraits of Dancers”, a series of dance videos that reflect his ongoing research into the dancing body as artist, performer, storyteller, communicator of ideas. Spring 2015 saw Quang complete his commission for Chinese Arts Space delivering the choreographic work “Lunar Orbits” and a series of community workshops for Project New Moon. Summer of 2015, Quang made “Bunny Dance” an outdoor promenade work with a cast of 25 community drummers and performers and 3 professional dancers for the Royal Court Theatre.
He was recently shortlisted for the Old Vic 12 choreographer award.
This autum, Quang will premiere “Lunar Corps” – a dance film touring with Project New Earth and “Lunar Shadows”- a full-length dance theatre work at Greenwich Dance.
