Hou Yifan in conversation with Dominic Lawson

Chess grandmaster Hou Yifan spoke with commentator and chess-enthusiast, Dominic Lawson. The two discussed Yifan’s intention to apply chess to her studies in international relations, the current state of the competitive chess scene, and whether the gender split in chess is a necessary one.

Yifan spent the earlier part of the day playing a simultaneous chess game with 12 primary-aged girls from in and around London.
