Internationally acclaimed art collector Dr Uli Sigg gave the inaugural Masterclass at China Exchange on Saturday 8 October. Over eighty Masterclass students were able to learn from Dr Sigg’s extensive experience in the art world. As the owner of one of the the most extensive collection of contemporary art from China in the world, he gave an extended lesson in the history and development of contemporary work in China from the 1970s to the present day. The class covered different collecting styles and the audience questions covered a range of topics including the ethics of collecting; the impact of politics and sensorship on art; and how to develop the most positive relationship with an artist as a budding collector.
