Opportunities to understand China, Chinese culture and Chinatown

China Exchange can continue work focused on supporting Chinatown’s recovery in response to covid-19 and racism thanks to further funding from The Churchill Fellowship.

In a 2022 project, China Exchange will work with volunteers and people who contribute to Chinatown to explore ways to normalise talking about hate crime and racism. This work follows our 2021 Chinatown Recovery Project, which concluded with No Place for Hate  and recommended that finding creative ways for people to share experiences of racism would contribute to breaking down barriers in reporting or responding to hate.

This project will be volunteer co-designed, with the project team curating the final display of stories and experiences to be shared within Chinatown over six months.

We are grateful to Churchill Fellowship for their continued support of this important work.
