Have a History with London’s Chinatown? We Want to Hear Your Story!

Love London’s Chinatown? Have worked,  lived in or often visited this area between the 1960s to 2019?  We would love to hear from you. We are looking for people who had or still have experience of London’s Chinatown and trying to find out how they helped shape the area into what it is now.

Chinatown has become a culturally iconic destination in London, but was it always like this? How did it get to be such a hot spot? Who were the people behind the shaping of it? We have been awarded National Lottery Heritage Funding to curate a summer exhibition presenting the history of the making of Chinatown. The exhibition will be presented in 3 parts: historical imagery and text panels, oral history video and audio installations and a series of free events.
